'Tis the Season

I know that I normally post about things that I want on Wish-list Wednesday's, however since today is Christmas and the world has just gotten finished with receiving a bunch of presents - I thought it wouldn't really make sense to post about things that I want when I was just given so much. So today I am going to post about some of the big gifts I received this holiday season.

The first and biggest gift this Christmas was the iPhone 5s Gold. This present was very highly anticipated. I wrote about this in my 'What I want for Christmas' post, and low and behold - Santa came through! And in the perfect color too.

The next biggest, and probably most surprising gift, were these riding boots from C Wonder. I have been asking for a new pair of boots for a while. I really wanted a brown pair as the only one's I own are falling apart. But these are too gorgeous and just my style that I really don't mind! Also, if you haven't heard of this store yet I would urge you to check the website out. They have great quality items for a better price than you will find at other retail stores.

The next pair of items pretty much sum up my Christmas into one word - Monograms. I'm in love. Both the hat and the vest come from Marley Lilly. I'm not sure where the necklace came from. Let me tell you I am overjoyed with all of these presents. I really wanted a monogram hat of some variation, I wanted a white monogram vest, and I've been asking for that necklace for the longest time now. Perfect Christmas gifts that I wouldn't change anything about!

So tell me, what did you get for Christmas this year?

Until next time,

What does the fox say?

Confession time. I have this slight obsession with the site Polyvore.com. It is a site where you can search by the type of item you are looking for, i.e. Peplum top, and find tons of different options from all over the internet with what you are searching for. It makes life so much easier rather than sifting through tons of sites and trying to find that exact item. Sometimes the greatest treasures can be found in the most obscure places.

Another great feature of this site is what I have posted below. You basically make a collage of different items throughout the site. I like to make mine look basically like this every time, almost like an outfit of the day that I don't actually own. This is so much fun to mix and match different outfits together, it really is attractive to poor college students like myself just wishing they had endless amounts of money to spend on clothes and fashion.

So I think for any kind of Fashion Fridays/other random days, I will post something from Polyvore if I don't have pictures of my outfit of the day.

Today's outfit was inspired by this fox dress. I'm not sure if you all have heard of that song called The Fox by Ylvis. It started out as this viral video on Youtube and has now hit number 71 on Spotify. Basically moral of this story is I am obsessed with that song. It's actually hilarious and if you have not seen the video I urge you to check it out right now...in fact I will add the video below just so you really have no excuse but to go watch it right away.

HILAR? RIGHT? Just me? Oh, okay, cool guys...

Anyways...back to this outfit. It was essentially inspired by this song. I saw this fox dress on the front page of the polyvore website, thought "What does the fox say?" and then proceeded to think "I need to create an outfit around this dress", and so became this post.

This outfit not only incorporates a fox, but it also is centered around my greatest love: 'hipster' style. I have posted about this before, how I wish I could dress like this but it is simply not going to happen for me. So instead I like to live my life through these collages thinking about what could have been......man that was depressing. Either way, I hope you enjoy my fox dress collage.

What does the fox say?

OMG, Shoes.

Let's get some shoes, let's party.

If anyone knows what I am referring to, you have my utmost respect.

Anyways, this week's Wish-list Wednesday's is all about shoes! Since it is nearing the fall, unfortunately, all of the fall lines are coming out and this means boots! Boot's galore - probably one of my favorite things in this world. They are so easy to slip on, adorable, and comfortable! Can't go wrong with that combination. Here are a few of my favorites for the fall.

These are the Tory Burch 'Keirnan' Boot that can be found at Nordstrom for $495

While yes, this may be the most expensive boot, there is just something about Tory. Don't get me wrong I understand it is a little ridiculous to pay an ungodly amount of money for a name, but there's a little part of me that just can't help it. They are beautiful, simple, and could go with everything.

These are the Enzo Angiolini 'Saevon' Boot that can be found at Nordstrom for $149.95

These are a little more wallet friendly. I think you'll begin to notice with the boots I choose that I like simplicity. There isn't much going on with this boot but I love it. For my personal style, I want my shoes to compliment my outfit, not be the center of attention. I believe these do the job.

These are the Halogen 'Keri' Tall Boot from Nordstrom for $229.95

To me these look like the Frye boots, which I like. Frye does it well in that they are simple yet elegant, however they are way too overpriced. Personally if I am going to pay that much for boots they better be one of my favorite brands (Tory) or literally make my legs look like a supermodels. Anyways, these boots are so cute and so simple and I love them.

As you may or may not have guessed I'm in the market for a new pair of brown boots for fall. Last season my favorites that I had worn for at least 3 years broke. I was so devastated. Now I could have them repaired but I figured they are so old that they would have to go soon anyways, it just wouldn't be worth it. Either way, hopefully one of these pairs I listed today will be in my closet soon. Also, I know Nordstrom's always has a pre-season sale before their new fall stuff comes out. Hopefully I can grab one of these during that sale for a discounted price! I'll keep you guys updated.

Until next time,

Rain, Rain, Go Away

I wanted to start a segment on this blog called Fashion Fridays. It is going to be something that I'll either post outfit of the day's or just fashion finds that I have been loving recently!

So in honor of Andrea just putting a damper on this summer weekend, I've decided to make the theme of this Fashion Friday "Rainy Days", we don't have to stop being stylish just because the weather isn't cooperating right?

Lets start from the feet up, shall we?

The first thing that I think we all knew was coming was none other than the Hunter rain boots.
I've been in love with these for some time now and while I have decided to spend my money on other things instead of on these, they will be mine in the near future - mark my words.

These are the Original Tall Gloss Rain Boots in Black that retail for $140
Here they are at Nordstroms as well as the Hunter website

The next thing that I feel kind of like a copy-cat for loving and drooling over are the L.L. Bean 'Duck Boots'. I'm not sure if it's just a southern thing but I have been seeing these pop up all over the place lately and I can't help but jump on the bandwagon.

These are the basic Women's 8" Bean Boots in Tan/Brown that retail for $99
Here they are on the L.L.Bean website

Onto Rain Jackets...

This particular jacket I actually own in the black color. It is from Columbia and it does the job. The only thing I do not love about it is it doesn't stay on my head, I have to constantly hold the brim of the hood in order for it to cover my face. Kind of a bummer, but other than that it is a great jacket!

This is the Women's Trail Turner Shell Jacket that retails for $90
Here it is on the Columbia website

The next jacket is from none other than Marley Lilly. Any southern girl who may or may not have a slight obsession with monograms knows and loves this site. Literally anything you could possibly think of to monogram, they have it. This is their lovely rain jacket with a monogram on both the front left chest as well as on the hood! Ahh, couldn't love more.

This is the Monogrammed Black Eddie Bauer Jacket that retails for $59.99
Here it is on the Marley Lilly website

Last but not least we can't leave the house without a cute umbrella!

Now another thing a southern girl needs to have in her closet is something from Lilly Pulitzer. Lilly just screams southern, fun, and preppy. I actually own one of her umbrellas from a couple of seasons ago and I cannot remember the name of the print, but every time I open it up I get tons of compliments on it.

This is the Lilly Pulitzer Umbrella in the print "Chiquita Bonita" that retails for $30
Here it is on Lifeguard Press

The last umbrella I realize is kind of unrealistic. Its Burberry and it's expensive. But if you paired it with the L.L.Bean boots from above doesn't it just scream London? Hey, a girl can dream right?

This is the Burberry House Check Umbrella that retails for $450
Here it is on Burberry

How I would personally style all of these outfits is by picking a shoe, add some fuzzy socks of course. Then add either jeans or leggings (my personal favorite). Add a comfy sweater if it is during the fall or winter or a light tee shirt during the spring or summer. Top that off with a rain jacket of your choice. Grab your cutest umbrella and you are out the door! Completely shielded from the elements!

These have been some of my personal favorite items for a dreary day. I realize black has been a popular color for a lot of these but you can absolutely substitute colors for the jacket or boots. I have a pair of hot pink rain boots that bring a smile to my face every time I wear them because they are just so fun!

Hope the rain didn't ruin your day too much but now you'll be ready for the next time it comes!

Until next time,

Casey Rose
